Granite Bay to Defend Boras Classic Northern Section Title in Toughest Bracket to Date


Ahead of the Tournament’s 13th year the Classic boasts more than 35 MLB Draftees from the 2024 class

Newport Beach, Calif., January 9, 2025 – The Boras Family Foundation today announced the 16 teams competing in the 2025 Northern Section of the Boras Baseball Classic of California, hosted April 14-17, 2025, with Oak Ridge High School hosting at Army Depot Park in Sacramento, CA.

“Looking to our 13th season the Foundation is excited to welcome new teams into the fold, to ensure each participating team faces the toughest talent in the state, testing their skills and learn new ones. With almost half of the teams ranked in the Top 25 in the State we believe this will be the best year yet. We look forward to welcoming these 16 elite teams to the Classic.”

Four new teams join the Northern Section of the Boras Classic with Benicia (18-9), Pleasant Grove (10-8), San Marin(22-9), and St. Ignatius (21-11).

Returning to the Classic alongside hosts Oak Ridge finishing second in league play, are defending Boras Classic Champions Granite Bay (24-10) and ranked 16th overall in California. Archbishop Mitty (20-13-1) returns alongside, Cardinal Newman (28-5) ranked #4 in the State, College Park (19-8), De La Salle (21-8) ranked #13 in the State, Franklin (26-7) ranked #32 in the State, Junipero Serra (22-7) ranked #17 in the State, Liberty of Bakersfield (32-4) ranked #6 in the State, Rocklin (24-11), St. Mary’s (30-6) ranked #15 in the State, and Whitney (21-12).

The 16 high school teams participating in the North Classic are guaranteed four games, with the championship game slated for April 17, 2025, at 7 p.m. A de-facto State Title game will take place in April 2025.
