Xavier Escontrias, Jr., MIF | 5’10 | 175lb College Commit: Uncommitted  Awards: 5A Northwest First Team All-Region , Preseason Underclass All-American West Region HM Previous Season Stats: AVG - .190, SB - 2, FP - .818 Coaches Note: Xavier is a medium build, athletic frame middle infielder who possesses a high baseball IQ. On defense, his athleticism shows immediately securing ground balls cleanly with great footwork allowing him to quickly transfer into strong accurate throws.  At the plate, his swing is very simple with a toe tap load, compact swing and above average bat speed. Uses all parts of the field and is able to hit to the opposite side very effectively. High on base percentage and has a great eye for the strike zone. On the bases can steal a base with good instincts and above average speed.On the mound, he delivers with a shorter arm action and compact delivery. He fills up the zone with fastballs ranging from 84-86 mph with above average arm side run. He compliments with a slider and change up, but can get outs with a fastball alone.

In the outfield, Blake does a good job of tracking down baseballs. Smith transfers from glove to arm, with strong, accurate throws. Good instincts allow him to get great jumps on ball’s hit to the outfield.
