Boras Baseball Classic of California Returns for 10th Anniversary Tournament


Four new Northern California teams to join Classic alongside six League Champions for the most stacked lineup to date

November 17, 2021 – The Boras Family Foundation today announced the 16 teams competing in the 2022 Northern Section of the Boras Baseball Classic of California, hosted April 11-14, 2022, after a 2-year hiatus.

The Foundation’s mission is always to provide opportunity, resources and remove the financial burden for the student-athletes that participate in the Classic each year, and we are glad to bring the tournament back in 2022 to continue our mission.”

The 2022 Classic is host to:

  • Six 2021 League Champions; College Park, Stockdale, St. Mary’s, Woodcreek, Palo Alto, and Mountain View
  • 14 Top 250 Nationally ranked players for the 2022- 2024 classes
  • 16 – 2021 Area Code Games players
  • 30 Top 100 State Ranked players by Perfect Game for 2022-2024 classes
  • 34 Division l commitments

Four new teams join the Northern section of the Boras Classic including Clayton Valley Charter with three State ranked players, San Ramon Valley with five Division l commits, 2021 Diablo-Foothill League Champions College Park, and 15-6 Mountain View round out the newest additions.

Returning to the Classic alongside defending champions Archbishop Mitty are, Cardinal Newman, Clovis Westwith three State ranked players, 20-8 Franklin with two nationally ranked players, Granite Bay, 16-1 Liberty, Palo Alto featuring #4 State ranked Henry Bolte (OF, Texas), host Oak Ridge with two Division l commits in Brent Jones (LHP, Washington St.) and Calin Trexler (OF, Sacramento State).

Sacred Heart features three nationally ranked players, 2021 Tri-City Athletic League Champions St. Mary’s, 2021 Southwest Yosemite League Champions Stockdale, and 2021 Capital Valley Conference Champions Woodcreek, featuring seven Division l commits.       

The Northern Section, hosted by Oak Ridge High School, will be held at a new location:

Army Depot Park located at 8411 Okinawa Street, Sacramento, CA 95828

The 16 high school teams participating in the North Classic are guaranteed four games, with the championship game slated for April 14th, 7 p.m. The Boras Baseball Classic tournament bracket will be made available in its entirety on the Boras Classic website, borasclassic.com, in early 2022.
