Boras Classic Shakes Things up with Addition of 7 New Teams


The Boras Family Foundation today announced the 16 teams competing in the 2023 Boras Baseball Classic of Arizona, hosted March 15-18, 2023 at Corona del Sol and Arcadia High Schools.

Joining the Classic for the first-time are: Basha (AZ) featuring five senior Dl commits including newcomer Justin Chambers, recently formed Canyon View (AZ) only in its fourth year of Varsity baseball returns six All-League players from their 20-win season, Casteel (AZ) with five Dl commits, Desert Oasis (NV) returning eight All-League players, Douglas County (CO) led by Area Code Games participants Finley Bates (SDSU) and Max Stanley (Texas A&M), 22-win squad from Sandra Day O’Connor (AZ) led by Josh Butler (Sr., ASU) and Hustyn Wheeler (Jr,. Oregon State), and Orem High School (UT) returning their entire 22-win starting lineup and starting rotation.

The 2022 Classic is host to:

  • Two 2023 Max Preps Early Top 25 with Hamilton (#3) and Bishop Gorman (#23)
  • Three 2022 Nationally Ranked Teams – Arizona’s Hamilton (#4), Bishop Gorman (#10), and Reno (#15) from Nevada
  • 13 players from the Perfect Game Top 150 in the 2023 class
  • 25 – 2022 Area Code Games players
  • 55 Division l Commitments
  • 72 All-League Players returning to the Classic

Teams returning to the Arizona Classic include co-hosts Arcadia and Corona del Sol, 2022 Boras Classic Champions Reno (NV) and runner-up and #3 ranked Hamilton (AZ), Bishop Gorman (NV, #23) with nine Dl commits, Catalina Foothills (AZ) returning seven All-League players, 10x Arizona State Champions Chaparral (AZ), 20-win team Mountain Ridge (AZ), and 31-win team and 5A State Runner up Nogales (AZ).

The 16 high school teams participating in the Classic are guaranteed four games, with the championship game slated for March 18th, 6 p.m. at Arcadia High School. Game to be live streamed on Game Changer.
