Newcomers Villa Park Crowned 2022 Boras Classic Southern Section Champions

Newport Beach, Calif., April 22, 2022 – The Boras Family Foundation today announced the 2022 Boras Baseball Classic Champions in celebrating 10-year anniversary.

“It’s been a great year back at the Classic after a two-year hiatus. Each of the 16 teams faced some of the toughest competition in Southern California, and Villa Park came out on top against JSerra. We congratulate each team on competing at this elite level and wish them the best in the remainder of their respective seasons.”

Closing out their 2022 Boras Classic appearance Villa Park defeated JSerra 11-3. Defeating Servite 5-4 in the opening round, followed by Huntington Beach 7-2, and Notre Dame 2-1 to meet the Lions in the final round.

Defensive MVP of the game awarded to Mason Miles and Offensive MVP of the game is Britton Beeson both of Villa Park.

The de-facto State Title game between the Northern and Southern Section Champions will not take place in 2022.
