Team Preview

Newcomers Bakersfield Christian (27-8) lead off as the 2023 Central Section Division ll Champions. With a young team and several returning players, the Eagles are led by TCU commit Mason Brassfield (‘24) and Branton Dickey (‘24, USD).

Players to Watch

Mason Brassfield | 6’4” | 195 lbs College Commit: TCU Previous season stats: 9-1  66IP  24H  20ER  145K  Awards: All League, All Area, Cal High All State Coaches Note: Mason is an elite pitcher with great work ethic and a high baseball IQ.  He’s a left-handed pitcher that consistently throws in the low 90s, with an above average slider.
Luke Mann, Sr. | 5’10” | 165 lbs College Commit: Uncommitted Previous season stats: .438 BA, 46H, 21RBI  11SB Awards: All League and All Area Coaches Note: Luke is a hard-nosed player with talent that plays the game the right way.  He was one of the top hitters in the Valley in 2023 and the top hitter on our roster.  He is an outfielder with good speed that runs efficient routes. Currently uncommitted but has several Dl schools interested.
McCoy Silicz, So. | 6’4” | 190 lbs College Commit: Uncommitted  Coaches Note: McCoy is a RHP with a lot of upside.  A RHP that currently throws 84-86 and has three pitches that he can consistently throw for strikes.  He is still growing and developing and has a great work ethic.  We have high expectations for him.
Deakin Brinkley, So. | 5’9” | 170 lbs College Commit: Uncommitted  Coaches Note: Deakin Brinkley- 2026 MIF from Bakersfield Christian HS. Moves well at SS and has the skillset to stay there at the next level as he develops and get stronger. Above average arm strength and feels for the position. Clean, athletic mover through the ball.  At the plate he has a clean swing that produces some effortless pop. Not a power guy, but hits the ball very hard on a regular basis. Drives the ball very well too.

Karson Greer, So. | 5’11” | 175 lbs College Commit: Uncommitted  Coaches Note: Karson swings very well from the left side. As he gets more at bats and gains consistency he has a chance to be a very good hitter. Barrel is clean through the zone and he can drive the ball to all fields. His power will come as he gets stronger and develops more.  Above average arm talent. Up to 87 on the bump. Karson has more in the tank and plays with a lot of fire.
