Often called “the underdogs” Nogales baseball have won at least 25 games in six of the past eight full seasons, including 2023, and have played in five of the past eight AZ State Championship games. The Apaches return to the Classic looking to dominate.

Alan Durazo, Sr. | 5'7” | 155 lbs

Previous Season Stats: .200 BA N/A
Coaches Note: Alan will be the captain of the outfield as he will take over centerfield this season. Alan had an injury in 2023 that kept him out for some time and will be able to cover a ton of ground from gap to gap as he is one of the fastest players I've ever coached. Alan will also use that speed offensively to be a threat and put pressure on opposing defenses.
Ralph Felix, Sr. | 5'9” | 180 lbs

Previous Season Stats: .311 BA with 6 doubles: Pitching 13.1 innings pitched, 2nd Awards: Team All Region
Coaches Note: Ralph stepped up in more than a few ways, and continues to build on 2023 and will be a key hitter in the middle of the order for the Apaches. Ralph is mentally tough and is a player that in crucial moments is not phased by big moments. Ralph is another senior who will provide experience and leadership for the 2024 season.
David Zazueta, Sr. | 6'2” | 200 lbs

Previous Season Stats: BA .349 with 5 doubles, 32.1 innings pitched 7 wins and 1 loss 50 k's and 25 BB 3.23 ERA
Awards: 2nd Team All Region
Coaches Note: David has a tremendous work ethic and his will to learn is second to none. Davis is a left handed power pitcher with great secondary pitches. David was primarily a pitcher at the start of 2023 and gradually worked his way into the lineup as a hitter. His primary focus is pitching but has also managed to dedicate some quality time to become a threat in the box for this season.
Jorge Amaya, Sr. | 6'0” | 165 lbs

Previous Season Stats: BA .241 with 2 doubles and 1 triple
Coaches Note: Jorge is a solid defensive who primarily played 2nd base last season. Jorge stepped into SS position at the end of the season after SS was injured. Jorge filled in at a key time at the end of the season and through the playoff run. Jorge is an agile defender up the middle and the Apaches look to his experience to be solid up the middle.

Previous Season Stats: 37 innings: 7 wins and 1 loss: 66 k's 18 BB's 0.757 ERA Awards: 1st team all region and 2nd team all state. Area Code in 2022 and 2023.
Coaches Note: Sal has been a dominant power pitcher for us the last 2 seasons. Sal is 17-1 with 2 saves in the last few years. Sal looks to continue to increase his power and velocity as well as continuing to develop his secondary pitches. The Apaches will rely on his senior leadership to guide a deep pitching staff.
