Newcomers slated to face-off against Classic Veterans as Highly Anticipated Bracket is Released
March 4, 2020—The Boras Foundation today announced the highly-anticipated bracket in the 2020 Southern Section of the Boras Baseball Classic. Co-hosts Mater Dei and JSerra Catholic High Schools welcome four new teams to the Classic held April 14-17, 2020.

A potential semi-final rematch that would eliminate defending champions JSerra Catholic or two-time finalists La Mirada, may be in the cards as the bracket is set for the 2020 tournament.
Depth in pitching, the Lions return strong, with four Dl pitching commits in Luke Jewett (UCLA), Ryan Sveningson (UCI), Cody Schrier (USC), and Gage Jump (UCLA).
The 2019 undefeated Matadors return five Dl commits in #2 state ranked Jared Jones (Texas), Emilio Morales(USC), Eugene Jeon (Santa Barbara), Jacob Sharp (Hawaii), and Isaiah DeHaro (Wagner) as they look to take their first Boras Classic Title.
The mix of five San Diego based teams, shakes things up with Cathedral Catholic, Rancho Bernardo and newcomers San Dimas, Helix, and St. Augustine.
The 2020 Southern California Classic is host to:
- Over 60 Dl College Commitments
- Three 2019 Undefeated League Champions in Cypress, La Mirada and San Dimas
- 30 Nationally Ranked Players
- 5 Nationally Ranked Teams
- Over 200 MLB Draftees
